The primary objective of this project was to develop a seamless and secure payment gateway API for our client, tailored specifically for integration with their existing WordPress and WooCommerce setup. The client faced challenges with the limited payment options available, which hindered their ability to provide a smooth and efficient payment experience for their customers. Our goal was to create a custom solution that would not only resolve these issues but also enhance the overall user experience during the checkout process.

To address the client’s issues, we developed a custom API designed to function as a robust and reliable payment gateway. The API, named Zeni Gateway, was integrated into the client’s WooCommerce platform. Here’s a step-by-step breakdown of our solution:
Enable/Disable Functionality: We provided an option to easily enable or disable the Zeni Gateway, ensuring the client has full control over the payment options available on their site. This feature is essential for maintenance and updates, allowing the client to make necessary adjustments without affecting the live site.
Customizable Settings: The API was designed with customizable settings, allowing the client to set the title and description as per their preferences. This ensures clarity and transparency for their customers during the checkout process. The flexibility in settings enables the client to personalize the payment gateway according to their branding and communication style.
Test Mode: To ensure the payment gateway’s functionality and reliability before going live, we included a test mode. This mode allows the client to test transactions using test credentials (Test Merchant ID, Test Account ID, and Test API Key) without processing actual payments. Testing is crucial to identify any potential issues and ensure a smooth transition to live mode.
Live Mode: Once satisfied with the testing phase, the client can easily switch to live mode by entering their live credentials (Live Merchant ID, Live Account ID, and Live API Key).
